Slow Feet, Perfect Timing | Lara Bedevian

Hey everyone! My name is Lara, I know some of you don’t know me but I just wanted to share a quick message with you all that hopefully will encourage and motivate you today.

Recently, I’ve been struggling with the constant feeling of being overwhelmed and stressed. I am a senior in high school and have been getting the constant questions of “Where are you going for college?” “What are you going to do?” “Where have you gotten in?” Hearing these questions 24/7 is starting to get on my nerves because I have to keep explaining the same answers to many different people. I know that this is their way of making conversation which is totally valid, but for how often I hear it, it is a little annoying and is a reminder that I don’t know what I’m doing yet. This has been making me feel overwhelmed and worried about my future. Through this time, I’ve tried to find comfort in scripture. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. This verse has been a great reminder of God’s love and faithfulness. He has my whole life planned out and spending all of this time worrying about my future isn’t going to change anything. I also love the song “Slower I go” by SEU Worship.

The lyrics say:

I wanna move slowly

'Cause this moment is holy

You’re never in hurry

So why ever would I be ?

Search me and know me and

Prune what you find

The future I made

Oh I leave it behind me

Lord if it’s you, then it’s perfect in timing

I wanna have slow feet, slow plans

Steadfast in patience

Rid me of my quickness

I’ll be soon to listen

It seems as though the slower I go

The faster I arrive

This reminds me to live in the moment that I am in, to not take my days for granted, and to put my trust in God because He is in control.

I hope you all have a great rest of your night :)
